Free bit crushing plugin by Tritik – ‘Krush’ is released!
Saturation, drive and bit crushing plugins are some of the most powerful tools when mixing, and this is no exception. They each offer different characters and will react to your sounds in slightly different ways, which is why you should always have a few options installed. And this is bit crushing with a capital ‘K’. There is so much on offer here, and for free!
Within my selection of saturation tools, it’s the more generic sounding algorithms and simpler plugins that I actually tend to use the most. Krush is exactly that, but with some really simple yet but powerful tools included. Sonically this is close to Avid’s own ‘lofi’ plugin which I use a lot, but with added parameters. The main controls offer drive, bit crushing and sample rate reduction, either individually or in combination. There are also high-pass and low-pass filters, which sound great; it is really great to see within the same plugin, as it reduces the need for more plugins in your mix.
However, it’s the modulation section which will be the biggest draw for many EDM producers. This is clearly laid out and offers compete modulation control with ease. The modulation settings can also be synced to your DAW session, or under a free time base. Simple is often the best method, and it certainly works here.
Compatible with both Windows and Mac for 32- and 64-bit systems, Krush supports all the modern formats: VST, AU and AAX. This is all too easy, thanks Tritik!
