IK’s software emulations are developed using IK’s technologies stuffed full of phrases that sound very good, like DSM (Dynamic Saturation Modeling), VRM (Volumetric Response Modelling). AmpliTube SVX, is a replica of the legendary Ampeg bass amp that’s free to download for a limited time.

From personal experience, I know that this is a great plug-in. I have owned it for a number of years and use it frequently on recordings. You can easily shape your audio tracks with the integrated tools and the user interface is nice and simple. The standalone version should also work quite well as an effects device live or just when you want to spark new ideas. You can even run audio data into the software in a number of formats including Wav, Aiff, SD2, Apple Caf, Flac, MP3. It’s an interesting, high quality tool that will certainly work well with other instruments, too. I’d recommend running a bass synth through it, for example.
