Free Teufelsberg impulse reverb plug-in captures cold war surveillance
Balance Mastering released the Teufelsberg impulse response set a couple of years ago. It was their most popular download. So when they decided to build a plug-in the Teufelsberg impulses was the obvious choice.
Teufelsberg
It may look like a giant white penis but in actual fact it’s a surveillance installation in Berlin. It was built during the cold war for listening over the wall into East Germany. The word actually refers to the human-made hill on which the listening station stands, originally built to cover a Nazi training college (thank-you Wikipedia).

The reverb plug-in is based upon the original impulses they recorded within the tower. It comes with 6 different IR reverb sounds, with simply a mix and a gain knob. Listening to the sound examples it sounds pretty great. I love the source material they’ve used – very fitting for the era.
