Gibson and School of Rock team up for limited run black-and-gold Les Paul Special
Limited to only 100 guitars
This black-and-gold, P-90 loaded Les Paul Special is the result of a collaboration between Gibson and School of Rock. The LP Special is a classic that has proven itself as a versatile guitar, and not just for rock music. These special versions are limited to only 100 pieces, and should sound as great as they look.
Gibson School of Rock Les Paul Special
I think these new limited-edition Gibson School of Rock Les Paul Special models look absolutely fantastic. The black nitrocellulose lacquer finish and the gold hardware sets the look off really nicely.
P-90 Tone
I am already a huge fan of P-90 pickups (you can read my Best P-90 loaded guitars article here), so I can appreciate why School of Rock went for this particular model. It is a design that has been used by countless guitarists over the years, because of its great tone. And the humble P-90 pickup is surely a classic sound you will have heard on many famous recordings.
The guitar’s construction sticks to a well-proven formula, consisting of a solid mahogany body and a 24.75″ scale-length mahogany neck, with a rosewood fretboard. It’s a traditional Gibson design that many players love, so it was a great choice for this collaboration in my opinion.
Save the Music
100 percent of the profits from the sale of these guitars will go towards Save the Music, who is a partner of Gibson’s charitable branch Gibson Gives. It aims to provide help to students, schools, and communities so that they can reach their full potential through the power of making music.
All gone!
Unfortunately, these models have already sold out! It’s no surprise really, as they are so cool looking. However, you can sign up on the School of Rock page below if you would like to be informed of future limited edition runs with Gibson. Let’s hope we see more cool P-90 loaded goodness, especially if it also helps out a very worthy cause.

Would I buy 4 fenders because of short life span due to poor construction or one Gibson that lasts because of quality build ? C’mon think realistically.
