Gibson announces new Frank Hannon Love Dove signature acoustic for Tesla guitarist

Gibson teamed up with Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon to release a new acoustic guitar, the Love Dove. This latest signature model looks pretty luxurious, and is bound to turn some heads.

The new Gibson Love Dove acoustic is the company’s first signature model for Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon and is based on his ’70s model. The guitar utilises a special thermally-aged Sitka spruce top, with maple back and sides, and looks stunning in its Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish. Each guitar is signed by Hannon himself, and comes with a custom “Love” engraved truss rod cover in Hannon’s own handwriting.

’70s Style
The guitar has a traditional hand scalloped X-bracing, a three-piece maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays. The ‘70s-era Dove bridge with scalloped wings is also decorated with mother-of-pearl wing inlays, making it a bit of a looker. Especially with the intricately hand-engraved and painted ‘Dove’ pickguard, which really states the look and styling of this model.

Other appointments include a set of Grover Keystone tuners, a bone nut and an onboard LR Baggs VTC pickup system. This is one very special acoustic and is sure to appeal to many players. If you love those old ’70s style Doves, then this acoustic is definitely worth checking out.
