Gibson Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP Limited Edition
Red Amber Burst and Ebony VOS finishes announced
Gibson has announced the new Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP Limited Edition. This latest incarnation of the Megadeth frontman’s signature guitar now comes in a Red Amber Burst or Ebony VOS finish.
Gibson Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP Limited Edition
This Gibson Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP Limited Edition is, as the name suggests, a limited run of his now-famous signature Flying V-style signature model. Now, whether or not you want Red Amber Burst with gold hardware or the Ebony VOS finish with nickel hardware, will depend on how much you like those colours. Or perhaps, how much of a Megadeth fan you are?
Limited Run
These are the latest in a set of signature models for Mustaine, which includes his Songwriter acoustic and a growing list of variations on the Flying V theme. Just this time there are only 75 of each model available, so you may miss out on these if you aren’t quick. Each one is made by the Gibson Custom Shop, so they should, in theory, be pretty decent.
Odd Release
It has been an odd release from start to finish. With initial batches being constrained and we have already seen a Rust In Peace limited run of the model. This makes this signature model start to feel a little like the never-ending Slash signature runs, which are available in multiple limited runs and finishes.
Specifications
With the same specifications as before, including a mahogany body and a 25.5” scale mahogany neck with a bound ebony fretboard loaded with 24 frets. This model will be familiar to anyone that has followed this signature release. Again, they come with a pair of the Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine Thrash Factor pickups.
The Ebony VOS model has already sold out on Thomann and so they must be popular with fans.
MSRP – USD 6999 each
