The Gibson Special Models
Gibson J-45 Special
Let’s start with the Gibson J-45 Special. One of Gibson’s most famous models, it features a solid mahogany body with rounded shoulders. This model features a ‘Concert Depth’ body, which is slightly thinner than a standard J-45, giving the J-45 Special a slimmer and tighter bass response.
The solid Sitka Spruce top provides a good balance between bass and treble. The slim tapered neck and rosewood fingerboard with 20 standard frets and pearl dot inlays provide a comfortable feel. The satin nitrocellulose finish is the main difference on all three Special Series models. It influences both the feel and the sound of the guitars.

Gibson Hummingbird Special
With its square body and rounded shoulders, the Hummingbird Special is a true classic, perfect for fingerstyle players and singer-songwriters. The solid mahogany body and solid Sitka spruce top deliver a full and clear sound. This guitar also features a slightly thinner ‘Concert Depth’ body. The neck has a round profile that is great for playing chords. The rosewood fretboard has 20 standard frets and pearl parallelogram inlays. The satin finish is also used here.

Gibson L-00 Special
The Gibson L-00 Special is also available in two attractive satin finishes: Satin Wine Red and Satin Vintage Sunburst. The solid mahogany body provides a warm and resonant sound, while the solid Sitka spruce top offers the projection and clarity you’ve come to expect from Gibson. The neck features a SlimTaper profile for a comfortable feel and fast playability. The rosewood fingerboard with 19 standard frets and elegant pearl inlays completes the classic design.
