This latest Gibson Jimmy Page EDS-1275 VOS follows the same formula as the previous Murphy Lab-aged model—just this time, it has the Custom Shop Cherry VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish and less case candy.

Double-Neck

Let’s face it: double-neck 6-string and 12-string models are unwieldy at best, so this one will probably be for collectors and die-hard Led Zeppelin fans.

However, Jimmy Page’s 1969 EDS-1275 Doubleneck is one of the most recognisable guitars in rock history.

Its iconic status was cemented by its prominent role in Led Zeppelin’s live performances, particularly in the legendary “Stairway to Heaven.” This double-neck marvel allowed Page to seamlessly transition between 6- and 12-string parts, adding a unique dimension to their music.

3D Scanned

Gibson Custom Shop has meticulously recreated this iconic instrument with the Jimmy Page EDS-1275, using advanced 3D scanning technology. They used this for the limited edition $50k model and already had those scans available.

This model has a one-piece mahogany body and two long-tenon mahogany necks. It has aged cellulose nitrate inlays and a 12″ radius Indian rosewood fretboard for both necks. The guitar has the correct Kluson tuners fitted on both the headstocks.

Jimmy Page Custombucker pickups with Alnico 5 magnets power this guitar, and it is wired using CTS potentiometers, ceramic disc capacitors, and Switchcraft components.

Verdict

This is another guitar aimed at collectors; for the asking price, it would be something only some would buy, as it is too large for most things. However, it’s interesting, but not something convenient, and so one best left to the fans.

MSRP – USD 9999 including Gibson hard case
