Gibson Les Paul Supreme Returns in two versions
The Les Paul Supreme is back in production
The Gibson Les Paul Supreme has today been revealed officially, following on from teases via social media from the CEO Cesar Gueikian in recent months.
Gibson Les Paul Supreme
The Gibson Les Paul Supreme is back in production and comes in two formats, with either a two or three-pickup version available on launch.
Each comes with a mother-of-pearl inlay inspired by a design from the 1940s that was discovered in the Gibson archives.
Ultra Modern Weight Relief
First up is the twin humbucker model that comes with a AAA-figured maple top on a mahogany body with Ultra-Modern Weight Relief.
The mahogany neck has an ebony fretboard with a compound radius and Super Split Block mother-of-pearl inlays. The neck has a Modern Contoured Heel for better upper fret access.
Burstbucker Pro
It comes fitted with Burstbucker Pro and Burstbucker Pro + humbucking pickups controlled with push/pull Volume and Tone controls.
The push pulls offer coil tap, phase, and Pure Bypass switching.
- 2x Push/Pull Volume (Coil-Tap)
- 2x Push/Pull Tone (Pure Bypass/Phase)
This model is available in Fireburst, Dark Wine Red, and a Translucent Ebony Burst finish. With gold hardware for all models.
Ebony Triple Humbucker
Next up is the three humbucker version, which has similar specifications, but a plain Ebony finish on a standard maple top. The Ebony nitrocellulose gloss lacquer finish is paired with gold hardware throughout.
This version comes with a set of two Burstbucker Pros for the neck and middle positions, and one Burstbucker Pro + in the bridge position.
Verdict
These four new models are a nice take on the Les Paul and if you like a bit of extra bling, or if you want those extra switching options, with modern playability and weight relief these could be just what you need.
Prices include a Gibson hard case and for a made in the USA they are priced about right, considering they are being advertised as a premium model.
