The Gibson Rick Beato Les Paul Special Double Cut is finally here, after over 18 months since we first heard about it. The YouTube star now officially has his very own signature model and it comes in a pretty sweet TV Blue Mist finish.
Rick Beato Les Paul Special Double Cut
This Gibson Rick Beato Les Paul Special Double Cut is based on two of Rick’s favourite guitars. The guitars that Rick loves are his TV yellow Les Paul Special DC and a Pelham Blue Les Paul Standard, this guitar combines a little of both in style and looks.
The double cutaway body is slightly thinner at 1.5” than normal Les Paul Special DCs. Making it lighter and hopefully more comfortable. The guitar has a super simple hardware setup which includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge and a Stop Bar tailpiece, plus a set of vintage-style deluxe tuners with white buttons.

Simple
Wood wise it is all classic Gibson and uses a mahogany body and neck, plus an Indian Rosewood fretboard fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets and a Graph Tech nut. Really, the only fancy part is the Single Ply Cream binding on the neck.
Of course, that new satin TV Blue Mist nitrocellulose finish is the standout feature on this guitar and looks amazing in the images. It works well with black plastics. And the subtle Rick Beato Signature on the truss rod cover is neat and unobtrusive. The finish itself uses no grain filler, therefore is lightweight.

P90
The twin P90 pickups are wired via a three-way toggle switch, with twin volume and tone controls. Making this guitar a simple, yet very effective instrument. I get that Rick Beato knows his guitars, but this one is pretty expensive for such a simple guitar design, so hopefully, it offers some great tones. Though Rick is donating his part of the proceeds from the sale of this guitar to a children’s charity and so it kind of makes up for the price.
His YouTube channel has over two and a half million subscribers, so I’m sure it will sell. I really do love that colour, and I’m looking forward to hearing reviews from owners and seeing what they think of this slightly thinner Les Paul Special DC.

Looks like a winner to me, and a classy move to use the proceeds for charity. I completely love the satin finish on the “tribute” series guitars, so if it feels anything like those and has this color, I’m sure it will be a killer guitar all around.
Wow that price is brutal! Love Ric but if I’m dropping $2k on a Gibson it ain’t this one. This feels like an intro model, and should probably land in low 1000’s. Now I’m interested to see how they sell given his channel
