Gibson Signature Les Paul for Tool’s Adam Jones enters production
Earlier this year, I told you about a Gibson Adam Jones signature Les Paul Custom. Time for an update: the guitar has now entered production, witnessed by the body blanks that have appeared on Tool’s Instagram account.
Gibson Adam Jones Signature in production
The Instagram post on the band’s official page speaks a thousand words – we couldn’t have better proof than these shots of body blanks with the “AJ” marked on them. You can clearly see the double binding of a Les Paul Custom as well.

It doesn’t get more OFFICIAL than this. Adam Jones Gibson Signature Guitars now in production!

Silverburst
We expect that Adam’s Silverburst will be shipping fairly soon – perhaps as early as this summer. Mr Jones played the original 1979 guitar on all of the band’s albums and also on stage, so a lot of Tool fans will be pleased to finally see Gibson recreate this legendary guitar. I suspect it won’t be cheap, but since original Gibson ’70s Silverburst models are already pretty expensive, it will be welcomed by enthusiasts and fans across the guitar world.

I’m really looking forward to seeing exactly how close the Silverburst finish is to the originals. Will these guitars be aged to look like Jones’ guitar? Or perhaps Gibson will offer both new and we see new and aged versions…

Tell us what you think in the comments section below. I’d be interested to know what fans and Gibson players think of this upcoming signature model. Will it take as long to come out as Fear Inoculum did? I hope not!

I’ve heard that they’re gonna be insanely expensive, like 8k for the unsigned version. I would buy one if you can though, because 30 years from now these will be museum pieces.
