Gibson Standard Acoustics: New Bursts for J45 and SJ-200 Models
UB40 J45?
These Gibson Standard Acoustics have some beautiful new finishes. With a distinctive Wine Red SJ-200 and a bright Heritage Sunburst J45, your new workhorse will stand out on stage.
Heritage Cherry Sunburst J45
Gibson’s famed J45 has been around for a very long time. Their timeless workhorse has been through a lot, and now offered in this bright *Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish.

What I like about this is that it presents as a typical natural finish. However, the Sitka spruce top appears a lot lighter than the Mahogany back and sides. The SlimTaper neck is also Mahogany, housing a rosewood fingerboard.

Vintage Sunburst
Also on offer in the J45 family with these Gibson Standard Acoustics is this much darker vintage sunburst model. Likewise woods have been used, and of course, there’s the traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing.
We get mother-of-pearl fret inlays along with a TUSQ nut and Grover Romatic Tuners for perfect intonation. Moreover, a nice large sound hole for those bright campfire cowboy chords and an L. R. Baggs VTC pickup system.
SJ-200 Gibson Standard Models
These jumbo models can trace their routes back to 1937! Continuing the legacy of the world’s most famous acoustic guitar, these SJ-200 models are now offered in two distinctive finishes: Wine Red and a Tri Burst.

This AAA flame maple back, sides, and top look stunningly beautiful in this Wine Red finish! Furthermore, this SJ-200 has a 5-ply top and a 3-ply back. It’s essentially a mirror finish. Gold Grover tuners also complete the look, along with white binding around the jumbo body.
Tri Burst
With more of a traditional approach, also on offer is this Tri Bust, complete with a Rosewood moustache bridge. The scratch plate is also rather fascinating.

Benefitting both models is a L. R. Baggs Anthem pickup system, with volume and mix controls being mounted on the sound hole. Overall, this mix control allows you to switch between the internal mic and the piezo pickup. Plus, we have a phase inversion switch.
20 frets sit upon a rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl granulated crown inlays. Both guitars also come with a Gibson-branded hardshell case included in the price.
