Gibson’s new Slim Harpo “Lovell” ES-330 is a beautiful blues machine
New Artist Collection Slim Harpo model announced
Gibson has released a new Slim Harpo “Lovell” ES-330 model in Vintage Sunset Burst. This model has some very nice touches, including a custom “Lovell” logo on the back of the headstock to honour Lovell Moore, Slim Harpo’s life partner, manager and co-writer of many of his biggest hits.
Slim Harpo “Lovell” ES-330 Vintage Sunset Burst
Blues musician James “Slim Harpo” Moore is being honoured by Gibson with this new Slim Harpo “Lovell” ES-330 model in a very fetching Vintage Sunset Burst finish. The guitar has a three-ply maple/poplar/maple top, back and sides with spruce bracing, and a mahogany neck with a rounded C-profile and rosewood fretboard.
Dogear P-90
You get a pair of Dogear P-90 pickups wired via a three-way switch and twin volume and tone controls. Gibson also makes note that this model comes with Orange drop capacitors. The hardware consists of an ABR-1 bridge with a Trapeze tailpiece, plus a set of Vintage Deluxe tuners with white buttons, all of which add up to make a very nice looking vintage-style instrument.
Lovell
I like the nod to Lovell Moore, as it is subtle and understated. It is just a tidy little Lovell logo on the back of the headstock and doesn’t interfere with the vintage styling of this instrument. This is certainly a nice looking guitar, and a set of P-90 pickups is always a winner for me. So if you’re a fan of that tone, this guitar is well worth checking out.
RRP – USD 2999 inc hard case

Beautiful. ES-330 is a great guitar. I have 1966 with the same finish except chrome dog-ear P90’s not the black ones. Plays great, weighs nothing!
Is it me ? Or will the bridge rattle due to retaining wire . Is that the AB1 R ?
I have a ’62 330 that’s as great sounding today as it was nearly 60 years ago. Those guys in Kalamazoo really knew what they were doing.
OUTSTANDING!
