Ginkosynthese Little Synth DIY kit is the perfect gift for the synth-nerd in your life
Ever fancied a go at making a little synth and didn’t know where to start? Or perhaps you need a little synth and wonder if there’s something good and cheap out there? Then look no further than the Little Synth DIY kit!
Little Synth DIY Kit
Probably small enough to fit in a Christmas stocking the Little Synth DIY kit is a cool little box from Ginkosynthese. And this is a proper kit, it doesn’t just click together, you will need a soldering iron. But with a dozen or so resistors, capacitors and a few knobs and buttons it’s not going to take you more than an hour to put this little thing together. It’s Arduino based and completely open source if you wanted to get into the coding and mess it about.
Otherwise, it’s a little synth with three knobs, some CV/Gate action and one of those horrible mini keyboards – but it’s all part of the charm.
Apparently it comes with 7 sounds including “Grains”, triangle wave with wave-wrapping, hoover, classic FM, sawtooth with hard-sync, phase distortion and tuned noise. There’s not a whole lot of information on the website. But there is a very cool demo video which is worth a watch.
The Little Synth DIY Kit is only €55.
