Gretsch Electromatic Classic Hollow Body with FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups
Now with new FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups and trestle bracing system
Gretsch has refreshed their Electromatic Classic Hollow Body models, so that now you get their new FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups, plus a new trestle bracing system across all three models in the range. Available in both right and left handed versions, along with a 12-sting model.
Gretsch Electromatic Classic Hollow Body
There are three new Gretsch Electromatic Classic Hollow Body models including the G5420 and the G5422 which are both available in right and left handed versions, and the G5422G-12 which is a 12-string model. Each of the three new models feature laminated maple bodies and C-shaped maple necks with laurel fingerboards fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets.
Colours
The G5420 is available in Airline Silver, Azure Metallic, Orange Stain and Walnut Stain finishes, then the G5422 is available in Orange Stain, Snowcrest White, and Walnut Stain finishes. Finally the G5422G-12 is available in either Single Barrel Burst or a Walnut Stain finish. The left-handed G5420 is only available in Orange Stain, and the left-handed G5422 comes in Snowcrest White.
FT-5E Filter’Tron & Trestle Bracing
Those FT-5E Filter’Tron new pickups are controlled by two volume knobs, plus a master volume knob with a treble bleed circuit, along with a master tone knob, and a three-way toggle switch. Then we have this new Trestle Bracing which Gretsch says offers improved sustain and a snappier attack.
Bigsby
The newly updated G5420T and G5422TG both come fitted with a Bigsby vibrato, whereas the left-handed version comes instead with a G-cutout tailpiece. You get nickel hardware on the G5420 and gold hardware on both of the G5422 and G5422G-12 models. You can hear these new Electromatic Classic Hollow Body models in the official Gretsch video below.
