Summer NAMM 2016: Gretsch Tom Petersson Signature Basses announced
The Cheap Trick bass player gets two new signature basses, with a total of 16 strings!
Two Gretsch Tom Petersson Signature Basses have just been announced at Summer NAMM. The Cheap Trick bass player has put his name to a new USA Custom Shop Signature 12-String Falcon Bass and G6136B-TP-AWT Tom Petersson Signature 4-String Bass.
USA Custom Shop Signature 12-String Falcon Bass
This Custom Shop 12-string bass is something that Tom Petersson came up with, and is known for playing. It’ll definitely give your fingers a workout, that’s for sure! The bass comes in a vintage white finish and is based on the Gretsch Falcon style. It’s a Custom Shop instrument and so I do not expect it to be cheap…
12-String Falcon Bass Specifications
Laminated maple body
12”radius ebony fingerboard
22 vintage-style frets
Mother-of pearl inlays
A C shaped maple gloss-finished neck
Short scale length 30.3″
Custom Seymour Duncan Super’Tron pickups,
Specially designed 12-string Space Control bridge
Gretsch “Cadillac” tailpiece,
Gold hardware and pickguard
G6136B-TP-AWT Tom Petersson Signature
If the idea of a 12-string bass scares you a little, then there is also a more reserved four-string bass being released, too. This model will come in an Aged White finish and will not be a Custom Shop model. This should make it a bit cheaper. Unfortunately, no pictures of this model are available at the moment.
G6136B-TP-AWT Specifications
4-string model.
Laminated maple body,
12” radius ebony fingerboard
22 medium jumbo frets

Bridge pickup Seymour Duncan Super’Tron and a Rumble’Tron in the neck pickup
Price is TBC. Both basses have been slated for release in early 2017.
