Guitar Deals: Harley Benton, Eventide, Walrus Audio, & EHX
This week’s Guitar Deals at Thomann include Harley Benton, Eventide, Walrus Audio, and Electro-Harmonix.
Harley Benton MR-Modern PWH
The Harley Benton MR-Modern PWH model is on sale at Thomann for 17% off the regular price. This Mosrite-style electric has modern updates, including a Wilkinson trem system and 22 Blacksmith stainless steel frets, which makes this retro-looking guitar up-to-date in playability.
Macassar ebony
It has a Canadian maple C-profile neck, a Macassar ebony fretboard fitted with glow-in-the-dark side dots, and dot fret markers. A pair of Artec AHC-90 Soapbar Alnico-5 Humbucker pickups have enough grunt to make this guitar cut through the mix. They are controlled by a single volume, a push-pull function for coil split on the tone control, and a three-way switch.
Eventide H9 Max Harmonizer
The Eventide H9 Max Harmonizer is currently €549, much lower than the suggested MSRP of €759, making this an excellent time to purchase the popular multi-effects unit.
It comes with over 50 effect algorithms from Eventide TimeFactor (Delay), ModFactor (Modulation), PitchFactor (Pitch), and Space (Reverb) pedals, as well as some algorithms explicitly created just for the H9.
H9 Control app
The simple user interface allows access to 99 presets, with 500 available via the accompanying free H9 Control app. This is an absolute powerhouse of an effects unit, with MIDI and tap tempo functionality that makes it perfect for most pedalboard and synth setups!
Electro Harmonix Big Muff PI Hardware Plugin
The Electro Harmonix Big Muff PI Hardware Plugin offers classic Big Muff tones that you can put straight into your DAW of choice. Allowing users to plug into their computer via USB and run recorded tracks and virtual instruments through the analogue circuit. Nice!
Thomann currently has it on sale for €259, down from the official MSRP of €399, which makes it well worth checking out.
Standalone
The pedal runs as a regular standalone unit and has 10 presets on board. Plus it will act as a 2-in/2-out audio interface for your computer. A great way to add some classic Mike Matthews’ Big Muff tone to your recording projects!
Walrus Audio ACS 1 Amp+Cab Simulator
The ACS 1 Amp+Cab Simulator from Walrus Audio is currently €339, down from €439. This pedal has three amplifier models based on British and American amps. It will also do dual amping, with two different amplifier/cabinet combinations possible for the left and right channels.
Impulse Responses
The pedal can also load six directly selectable, high-class, true-to-original IR cabinets suitable for the individual amplifiers. Users can also load IRs via the free web app. Read our in-depth review of the pedal here.
Walrus Audio MAKO M1
Then there is the Walrus Audio MAKO M1 pedal, which is currently €279 instead of €379. It contains a wealth of modulation effects in one pedal. Including studio-quality Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo, Vibrato, Rotary, and Filter settings, along with nine onboard presets or 128 accessible via MIDI.
Stereo
One of the significant advantages of this effect is that it can run in mono or stereo. Making it perfect for complex guitar rigs, synths, and studio duties.
