Guitar Gear Gems: Fender Japan Elemental Series
Fender Japan gets busy and SolidGoldFX rescues an old favourite
This week on Guitar Gear Gems we take a peek at the latest Fender Japan launch. The new Elemental Series is a new range of high-spec instruments all at an affordable price. Including all the old favourites from Fender, just with a modern twist. Then we check out the latest Art Canvas model for 2022 from Heather Brown and the latest news from SolidGoldFX.
Fender Japan Elemental Series
The Elemental Series features a Jazzmaster, Telecaster, Stratocaster and a Jazz Bass model. Key features include a pair of Modern Modified humbucker pickups and a three-way coil-splitting switch.
Compound Neck
Each of the guitars has a 12” radius rosewood fretboard fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets all on a C to D profile compound maple neck.
Stone or Nimbus?
These are available in either Stone Black or a Nimbus White finish and they each have a nice modern contoured neck heel for better upper fret access.
Hardware includes an Adjusto-Matic bridge with an anchored tailpiece on the Jazzmaster model, a six-saddle hardtail on the Telecaster, and a two-point Deluxe Synchronized tremolo with a pop-in arm on the Stratocaster.
Whereas the Jazz Bass model has a HiMass Vintage bridge. It also has controls for master volume with a push/pull, a pickup selector, a treble boost and a bass boost.
Let’s hope some of these make their way into Europe and beyond, as they look great and aren’t overly expensive either.
MSRP – YEN 170,500 each
Heather Brown Art Canvas
Last year, Fender Japan released a highly limited edition Art Canvas Esquire by Heather Brown and it sold out super fast. Well, they have down a new model for 2022 and it again features Brown’s unique artwork.
This “Made in Japan Art Canvas Esquire Heather Brown No.2” looks very similar, just with more blue in the colour palette. This model comes with a single American Vintage ’58 Single-Coil Tele bridge pickup and is limited to only 30 guitars this year.
MSRP – YEN 198.000
SolidGoldFX takes on Diamond Pedals

One response to “Guitar Gear Gems: Fender Japan Elemental Series”
I am a big Jazzmaster fan but this thing is so MEH. My Ultra Luxe Jaguar, the one that is JMy 25.5″, is great with double humbuckers and dark look, but somehow this approach just looks boring and plain.
