Yes, you read that right! Following the massive success of the last challenges, Harley Benton is now kicking off spring with the #HBDiyKitChallenge. Starting now, you can showcase your self-designed instruments via video and show your work to a panel of professionals, who will then select a winner from all the submissions. You can win up to €500 in the form of a gear voucher. Sounds cool! It’s worth participating in.
Harley Benton #HBDiyKitChallenge gets musicians crafting
There are no limits to your creativity: Everyone who wants to participate creates an instrument from a DIY kit ( linked here ) from Thomann.
Afterwards, you must upload and present your short film, which shows you with the instrument, on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or YouTube with the hashtag #HBDiyKitChallenge .
Please don’t forget to link to the Harley Benton account on your chosen platform. This is the only way to attract the jury’s attention and ensure you’re included!
Prizes
The winner can win a €500 voucher, the runner-up a €350 voucher, and the third place winner a €200 voucher. That sounds tempting!
These are the rules for participation.
To participate in the contest, video submissions must be publicly accessible and your YouTube/Instagram/TikTok/Facebook title must include the hashtag #HBDiyKitChallenge . The Harley Benton #HBDiyKitChallenge begins on Monday, April 15, at 12:00 PM and ends on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:59:59 PM . Only videos published within the specified time period will not be considered for awards by the jury.
A jury consisting of YouTube hosts and Harley Benton employees will award prizes to the three best compositions. They select the winners based on the following criteria: originality, overall visual impression, quality and clean workmanship of the DIY instrument, and special craftsmanship (e.g., special visual designs, appliqués, decorations). Furthermore, the instrument must be both visually appealing and playable.
Photos and video footage of the build are welcome and will be shared by Harley Benton on their social media channels.
