Harley Benton NAMM: Double Humbuckers for ST-Modern Plus
When the ST-Modern Plus series was introduced in June 2002, we were impressed. These Super Strats offered an extremely modern design and great craftsmanship at, as always, an impressively low price. And now, for Harley Benton NAMM, the manufacturer has upped the ante. With six HH models.
Because so far, only HSS setups were available for the ST-Modern Plus. So, if you’re looking for a Super Strat with a Les Paul sound, you might find it here. The manufacturer is introducing this version in previously known colors: Seafoam Green*, Daphne Blue*, Black*, Silver Sparke* and Yellow*. There is also a left-handed version* of the Daphne Green model.
These modes also come with an American alder body with a tapered heel, a bolt-on flamed roasted maple neck (C-profile) with a Laurel fretboard, dot inlays, and glow-in-the-dark side marks, with 22 medium jumbo frets. For pickups, there is a Tesla CROW-i6b ferrite high-output humbucker at the bridge and a Tesla CROW-i6n ferrite high-output humbucker at the neck (these pickups have nothing to do with the car manufacturer).
In addition, you get controls for master volume and master tone (including push/pull functionality), as well as a Babicz FCH Z bridge with fixed hardtail string-thru body and Sung-Il ML-55 locking tuners. Each of the ST-Modern Plus HH models costs €399 at Thomann.
Guitar Max Fusion: Take a Look at These Colors!
Harley Benton really means business with their signature models. When you look at the Guitar Max Fusion and the Agufish series, which are downright “expensive” guitars by HB standards, these are playing in the very upper leagues of electric guitars. And just in time for Harley Benton NAMM, the manufacturer is adding three extremely chic colors to the Guitar Max Fusion series: the natural Walnut, the sexy Purple Flame Finish, and the absoluty stunning eye-catcher Holographic. It doesn’t get more disco than that.
Like the first model in the Emerald Flame finish, these three guitars also feature a Nyatoh body, roasted Canadian maple neck (Modern C profile), roasted maple fretboard, and a mini switch for coil splitting. The pickups are Tesla Plasma-X1 in the bridge and Tesla Plasma-RS2 in the neck. The Purple Flame and Walnut models come with gold hardware, while the Holographic model has black hardware. The Purple Flame and Holographic models are priced at 499 Euros, while the Walnut model is priced at 449 Euros.
HB-35Plus: 335-Model in White
For the last four years, Harley Benton has been persistently expanding the HB-35Plus series with new colors and, at times, even a tremolo. For Harley Benton NAMM, the manufacturer is adding a model in white. Compared to the previous models, mahogany has been used instead of Canadian maple, but the rest remains the same. This model of the Vintage series costs €229 at Thomann.
