Harley Benton SC-550SL Gotoh Tribute: Classic Singlecut for less money
Slashing the price of the classic Singlecut guitar design
These Harley Benton SC-550SL Gotoh Tribute models have all the right ingredients and a recipe for good tone. All without breaking the bank and they are available in a left-handed version on launch.
Harley Benton SC-550SL Gotoh Tribute
The new Harley Benton SC-550SL Gotoh Tribute comes in a classic Singlecut design. Reminiscent of the Gibson models of the 1950s and 1960s, just at a much more affordable price point.
The Classic Singlecut Formula
They come with a chambered mahogany body with a carved AAAA flame maple veneer top and they come in Autumn Flame Burst or Paradise Amber Flame finishes. Each guitar has a mahogany 60s profile neck with a Pau Ferro 12″ radius fretboard and 22 Blacksmith stainless steel frets plus a set of classic trapezoidal fret inlays.
I love that they are offering a left-handed version on launch, that is a great move and one I certainly welcome.
Alnico Tesla
The Tesla Opus-1 Zebra Alnico-5 humbuckers are controlled via a standard 3-way switch, with twin tone and volume controls. Hardware includes the set of Gotoh Kluson tuners and a DLX Tune-O-Matic bridge and a stop tail. It is all good stuff and great to have at this price point.
The Harley Benton SC-550SL Gotoh Tribute costs EUR 349/GBP 349 for both the Paradise Amber Flame* and Autumn Flame Burst*
Slashing Prices
Of course, both these guitars look like something Slash would have played on whilst recording Guns’n’Roses’ Appetite for Destruction. An album where he used a Kris Derrig copy of a Gibson Burst to record one of the most successful debut albums of all time.
Just going to prove that you don’t need an actual Gibson to make great music.

They look good. And full props to HB for the lefty version. Nice.
Looks like both a better guitar and a better deal than an Epiphone with the added bonus of not having to deal with Gibson.
These are not so much aimed at Epiphone/Gibson but at PRS SE. Why buy an overpriced PRS SE where all parts are sourced in the same Asian factories when HB will give you 3 guitars for the same price?
so nice I bought 1 of each (both RH). Stunning to look at, easy to play, and VERY light. MY AFB model is, dare I say it…al.ost too light, yet still well balanced. These are not built quite like a truly well constructed $2k guitar, but do rival some of the expensive gear that is historically problem prone. Finish easily matches or exceeds that of the big G at 1/8 the price. Small parts are quality, and pups sound excellent. Total no brainer purchase.
