HeadRush 2.4 adds new Engl Powerball inspired amp, plus effects
New amps and effects for HeadRush Pedalboard, Gigboard and MX5
The HeadRush 2.4 update adds a four-channel Engl Powerball head, along with four new classic stompbox emulations. These include a handy bass preamp/distortion.
HeadRush 2.4
Who doesn’t love free updates? The latest HeadRush 2.4 gives players a whole heap of useful stuff to play with, and it is compatible with HeadRush Pedalboard, Gigboard and MX5 units. The new amp model was inspired by the Powerball 2011 model, which itself is a 4 channel 100 watt affair, and based around four 6L6GC power tubes and four Engl ECC83/12AX7 tubes in the preamp. This digital recreation gives you access to some of those tones, which you can check out in the official video below.
Bass Preamp
You also get a new bass preamp, which was inspired by the Darkglass Microtubes B7K Ultra V2. It has three-way toggle switches for Lo-Mids and Hi-Mids, and three selectable frequencies per dial, as well as toggles for Grunt and Attack.
Finally, you get some more stompboxes to play with. These include the Dunlop JHC-01 Octavio-style octave fuzz, a tube overdrive Boss SD-1-style emulation, and the D250 Drive, which looks to be a DigiTech Overdrive Preamp 250. All round, it’s a neat little update, and you get a lot in this little freebie that is really useful.

My Gigboard no longer recognises the USB port, so I can’t update, backup or use it as an audio interface. So, I’ve missed out on two or three updates now, a shame, as these new preamp options sound sick.
Oh man… They are sick!
Have you tried contacting HR about that issue? I’ve heard that they are pretty responsive to queries about their products.
Guitarist in our band had the same problem. Also the HR failed during a gig! Motherboard was broken and they said it was a known issue. They replaced it without any cost in warranty.
