HoRNet bring colour to the digital realm with AnalogStage
There is such an array of plugin manufacturers out there that it’s often hard to know who to invest with. However, when it comes to distortion and analogue emulation-style plugins, I don’t think you can have enough. They all present a slightly different colour which give you a palette to work from, particularly when working within different genres. At only 17.99 EUR, surely AnalogStage is a flavour worth sampling?
I’ll hold my hand up straight away and confess I haven’t used a HoRNet plugin before, including this latest offering of theirs. This might be just the introduction I needed however to explore the rest of their range as I’m very tempted by this analogue equipment simulation. I love little plugs like this, each giving you different shades to work with.
It offers 3 different emulation modes; op amp, transistor and tube. Usefully, Hiss, Saturation and the auto gain feature can be enabled separately. The fun is delivered by your normal gain parameter and a cool ‘age’ slider that “simulates the aging of the analog device, changing saturation and frequency response”.
The plugin is available for Mac and Windows in AU, VST, VST3, RTAS and AAX formats. Priced at only 17.99 EUR it’s certainly worth adding to the list.
