Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AMH90: a hollow body with Tri-Sound tones
Loaded with Ibanez Super 58 humbuckers and Tri-Sound switch
The new Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AMH90 model for 2021 has been officially released. The guitar features a full hollow body construction, perfect for jazz-tinged tones. And with its Ibanez Super 58 humbuckers and Tri-Sound voicing switch, this new guitar should be able to offer a wide palette of sounds.
Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AMH90
Construction-wise, the new Ibanez Artcore Expressionist AMH90 hollow body models have a linden (a type of basswood) body and a three-piece nyatoh/maple 24.75″ scale length neck. In addition to this, you get a 22-fret bound Macassar ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlays. Hardware includes a gold Ibanez Gibraltar Performer bridge paired with a floating VT06 tailpiece. The model is available in two finishes, Black or Cherry Red Flat, both of which really suit the design of this guitar.
Ibanez Super 58 & Tri-Sound
The guitar comes with a set of Ibanez Super 58 humbuckers which are controlled via two volume and two tone knobs, along with a three-way selector switch and an Ibanez-designed Tri-Sound switch. The switch gives the neck pickup three different voicings, which includes both the coils active and in series, only one coil active, or with both coils active and in parallel. This all adds up to a lot of tonal variations from a single guitar.
For the money, this model offers a lot. And with all the tones on offer here, courtesy of that Tri-Sound switch, I can see it being popular with many players. Just take a listen to the official Ibanez demo video below to hear it in action.
