Ibanez AZ2203N Prestige SSS models and LM1-LWH signature
All new SSS Made in Japan Prestige AZ models
New Ibanez AZ2203N Prestige models fitted with three Seymour Duncan single-coil pickups are part of the company’s 2023 launch. Along with a signature model version for guitarist Luca Mantovanelli.
Ibanez AZ2203N Prestige
This year we get the new Ibanez AZ2203N Prestige in an SSS pickup configuration. Loaded with three Seymour Duncan Fortuna single-coil pickups. They feature a five-way blade pickup selector switch, a master volume, tone and a blend knob.
Will it Blend?
Their previous AZ Prestige models came with variations on the dyna-Mix switching system, whereas these have this new blend control instead. Offering the ability to access more pickup combinations, including an all-on mode and an outer-pickups-only option.
Elsewhere, they have a solid alder body, the S-Tech roasted maple neck and a rosewood fretboard with 22 jumbo stainless steel frets and pearl dot inlays. The fretboard has a modern compound radius of 228mm to 305mm and is the standard 25.5” scale length, the same as the previous models in the range.
Hardware includes a Gotoh T1502S bridge and a set of Gotoh Magnum Lock locking tuners, plus a bone nut.
Available in Antique Turquoise and Black finishes on launch.
Made in Japan
These Japanese-built Prestige models will no doubt be popular and they should stand up well against the competition I reckon. With Fender, PRS, Suhr, etc all offering high-end SSS S-Type models, it makes sense for Ibanez to go for some of that market. As their HH and HSS models from previous years have all had rave reviews from guitarists.

This model comes with a Gotoh T1702B bridge and Gotoh MG-T locking tuners, plus a set of abalone dot inlays. Apart from these minor tweaks, it is the same basic format as the models above.
