Guitar legend Joe Satriani and IK Multimedia have collaborated to create the Tonex One, a limited-edition stompbox. Handmade in Italy with a stunning chrome finish, it features 20 exclusive presets crafted by Satriani using his signature Amp Vault Tone Models.

IK Multimedia has announced the Joe Satriani Tonex One is now available for preorder. This limited edition chrome finished pedal version includes his Amp Vault Tone Models Collection, valued at $99.99.
It comes preloaded with 20 presets meticulously designed by Joe Satriani himself. These presets draw from his exclusive Tonex Signature Collection, unlocking a treasure trove of 67 Tone Models spanning the guitar legend’s career. The pedal comes with preloaded tones from early classics to modern sounds featuring his latest Signature 3rd Power Dragon Amplifier.
Red Rocker Studios
These Tone Models were created using cutting-edge AI Machine Modeling technology with advanced training. Joe Satriani meticulously dialed in and captured them at the renowned Sammy Hagar’s Red Rocker Studios.
Customisable LEDs
Customisable LED colours simplify operation when stacking multiple units or creating stereo rigs. It integrates studio-grade effects, including EQ, delay, modulation, compressor, reverb, noise gate, and a smart tuner.
Furthermore, the TONEX ONE seamlessly connects to the vast ToneNET library, granting access to over 40,000 Tone Models. It offers two flexible Performance Modes: Stomp (on/off) or Dual presets.
Connectivity options include a TRS output for stereo, dual mono, or headphones and a USB-C connection for loading Tone Models and recording directly to your computer.
AmpliTube 5 SE
The package includes Tonex SE software, a comprehensive all-in-one player, modeler, librarian, and AmpliTube 5 SE software.
A $50/€50 discount on the pedal is available to users who have previously purchased the Amp Vault Signature Collection.
Verdict
Certainly one for Satriani fans, as it has many of his signature tones loaded, and it is chrome! The presets include “Time Machine,” “The Extremist,” “Summer Song,” “Ice 9,” “Crush of Love,” “Love Thing,” and many more.
It is a limited run (preorders are open now), and I can see it being purchased by fans of Satriani. In practical terms, I would probably struggle to see the writing on the pedal against the chrome background, but it is super shiny!
MSRP – USD / EUR 229.99
A standard Tonex One is around €/$100 cheaper, so it may be more practical for most players.
