IK Multimedia ToneX One: Thomann deal – over 10 percent off right now!
Crazy good deal on the popular stomp modeler!
It’s amp modeling time! The IK Multimedia Tonex One is a compact version of their popular ToneX pedals that brought amp modeling to the pedal masses. The One brings all the modeling capabilities and the sound its bigger sibling is famous for at a form factor and a price bound to turn some heads. Let’s take a look.
[Update June 26 2024] After the IK Multimedia Tonex One stomp modeller was sold out for months, Thomann and many other retailers seem to be stocking the pedal again. And if you look at forum discussions and YouTuber reactions, the popularity of the Tonex One is unbroken.
Furthermore, you can currently get the hardware at Thomann* for over 10 percent less than its usual asking price! The good thing is that it’s in stock, the modeling sound is right at the top, and, as an owner of a One, I have this little insider tip for you: if you configure the software correctly, you can even use VST plugins in the pedal!
What’s this all about?
IK Multimedia ToneX One: Tiny stomp modeler, loaded with features
[original post] IK Multimedia has announced the latest addition to their popular ToneX series: ToneX One. It’s much more compact than the bulky ToneX Pedal IKM released in early 2023. But ToneX One brings the same AI-based modeling technology that made its predecessors one of the most popular stomp modelers, not far from Boss’s IR-2 and Kemper’s Profiler Player.
With ToneX One, you get a very compact stomp modeler that provides you with access to over 25,000 models, including over 200 premium models. Through IK Multimedia’s proprietary ToneX Librarian software, you can change and switch up to twenty presets on the pedal. In addition, there are three preset slots, each with two different modes: dual or stomp mode.
In Dual Mode, you can switch between two presets by hitting the foot switch, much like you’d switch between amp voicings. If you use a preset in Stomp Mode, the pedal behaves like an ordinary effects’ pedal, where hitting the foot switch activates or bypasses it.
Direct access to three effects and multi-functional output
As small as the IK Multimedia Tonex One is, it still offers the most important controls and several convenient features. For instance, its TRS output triples as a stereo, dual-mono, and headphone output! The ToneX One also includes a built-in tuner and controls for effects like Gate, Compressor, Reverb, and a three-band EQ. Furthermore, you get five different reverb flavors to choose from: Hall, room, plate, and two spring reverb models.
Through IKM’s ToneX capturing technology, you can even capture your own rig in great detail and take it on the road without breaking your back. In addition, you can connect the pedal through your computer via USB-C and use it as an audio interface to record your guitar directly into your DAW.
What does the IK Multimedia ToneX One cost?
Here’s the kicker: this thing comes at a very competitive price for what it does. It will be interesting to see and hear comparisons to the other aforementioned stomp modelers. The IK Multimedia ToneX One is available at Thomann* for $178.00 / £174.00 / €199.00.
