Atlantix is the successor to the Atlantis synth voice released about a decade ago. And while the two modules have many things in common, the new version has a lot more to offer in terms of sound design possibilities and connectivity. As such, Atlantix is not a re-issue, but a major evolution.

More Information

Most importantly, Atlantix offers two VCOs in contrast to the single oscillator of the predecessor. Oscillator A can do thru-zero FM with index, pulse width modulation, and hard/soft sync. VCO B, on the other hand, offers linear FM and hard sync and can operate as an LFO, as well. There’s also noise and a sub-oscillator.

Furthermore, Atlantix offers two modulation busses instead of one, each with eight selectable sources. Sample&Hold is also available. The ADSR envelope now lets you choose from three speed settings as opposed to two.

The Roland-inspired filter has highpass, lowpass, and bandpass modes and offers a choice of 2-pole or 4-pole characteristics. One notable addition is the Phazor mode from the semi-modular Cascadia.

Despite loads of new features, the module has only grown by two HP and now takes up 42 HP in your rack. 32 inputs and outputs for CV and audio signals offer many opportunities for creative patching. And if that’s not enough, you can add the optional Atlx expander module, which provides additional oscillator and filter outputs, as well as a ring modulator.

Atlantis was already one of the best Eurorack synth voices. While it can do everything the predecessor could do, the new Atlantix looks to be a massive upgrade with drastically expanded possibilities.
