Introducing the Chandler TG Microphone Type L
The new Chandler TG Microphone Type L is a more affordable version of the esteemed TG Microphone, inspired by the famous EMI REDD Microphone series that began in the 1930s.
With the Type L, you get a studio workhorse mic that could replace one or even several mics in your current locker for applications like tracking vocals and amp cabinets.
Chandler TG Microphone Type L
At its core, the Type L is a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser with classic EMI-inspired FET transistor circuitry and a versatile Dual Tone System, for getting the best results from specific sound sources.
While the “A” will sound great on almost any source, “B” gives the Type L a ribbon-like quality and warmth that you might use when you want to bring out certain characteristics from a piano or drum performance.
The Type L also features a -10 dB pad switch, for dealing with louder sources like drums, percussion, and orchestral instruments.
Overall, Chandler Limited and Abbey Road have developed an incredible recording tool that will be within the reach of far more musicians than the rest of the EMI microphone series.
It also provides a great vintage-sounding option in a price range where you mostly find the very clean and clinical mics that are often preferred on modern recordings.
