Cascadia is the latest addition to the Catalyst range of adaptive processing plug-ins, joining Plasma and Aurora to form a family of intuitive creative sound shapers.
iZotope Cascadia
In its internal chain, Cascadia uses adaptive unmasking. This process analyzes the input signal and intuitively creates a pocket for the delay signal without infringing upon the other instruments in your mix.
Cascadia is equipped with all the controls necessary to create subtle or complex sounds from echoes to lush soundscapes, inverse delays, and more. In addition, with controls to add pitch drift, you can introduce a unique range of tone colour to your sounds.
Like the other plug-ins in the Catalyst Series, the controls are very straightforward and intuitive, allowing you to dial in sounds easily and quickly make adjustments to help your sounds blend in or stand out of the mix.
The familiar high-pass and low-pass filters underneath the central frequency spectrum area allow you to set the specific range for the processed sound. Meanwhile, you have your unmasking controls on the right, and all your basic delay functions on the left.
Overall, Cascadia is a great option for beginners, especially if you are new to the idea of creating your own sounds. However, it will also be equally enjoyed by more experienced producers and engineers for its streamlined workflow.
