iZotope cures its GAS for reverb with Exponential Audio acquisition
The folks at pro audio software maker iZotope boasted about their newest acquisition – reverb craftsmen Exponential Audio. Known for its R4, PhoenixVerb Surround, and Symphony reverb plug-ins, Exponential is now iZotope property.
Its founder, Michael Carnes, joins iZotope as an research associate – so expect to hear his touch on future iZ products. Carnes used to be in Lexicon, working on the poshest reverbs around, so we’re talking a seasoned veteran teaming up with what I consider one of the industry’s most innovative, forward-looking developers. Both brands happen to be mainstays in music, film, and game audio, so I’d like to say their merger is sensible and, indeed, promising!
Current Exponential customers will see the company’s product line shifted to the iZotope web store, with technical support handled by the latter’s customer care team.
Celebrating the occasion, iZotope is taking 30% off all Exponential Audio products and bundles in its web store. So if you have been GASing for them or looking around for solid reverbs, this is your chance to score.
