iZotope RX9, now with even more spectral editing options
iZotope has followed up on its September announcement with the release of RX9 and Post Production Suite 6. RX has been a piece of mature software technology for a number of years, so coming up with meaningful improvements at this point is quite a feat. And brainy as it is, iZotope has still managed to release a significant upgrade. RX9 has a lot to offer. Let’s dig in.
iZotope RX9 and Post Production 6
First things first, RX9 boasts a brand new Dialogue Isolate algorithm which extracts reasonably clean voice from recordings plagued by background noise of the chaotic kind (crowds, traffic, weather, etc.). Further along, the De-Hum algorithm gets a new Dynamic mode for instant hum/ring/interference removal without reducing fidelity. The new Complex mode in Ambience Match lets professionals connect dialogue and ADR cuts with background movement and textures.
A new Restore Selection feature can roll back a selection of audio to any step from the Undo history (Ctrl-Z for spectral editing, yeah!) which has been expanded to show 30 steps. Finally, an ARA-based Spectral Editor is provided to Logic Pro X users. While this isn’t some uber-extensive list of, like, 40 new features and improvements, I do not disagree with iZotope’s decision to make this a major RX release.
You can also get RX9 as part of the iZotope Post Production Suite 6, which is a financially sound way of acquiring that, along with most of the developer’s production software (if you need it). You can learn more about what’s included here.
Pricing
Currently, RX9 is available in three versions with introductory pricing: Elements (USD 29, down from USD 129), Standard (USD 299, down from USD 399), and Advanced (USD 799, down from USD 1199). The functional differences between them are described here. Post Production Suite 6 is being sold for USD 999, down from USD 1999. You can purchase the software from Thomann by using the affiliate links below. Several upgrade and cross-grade paths are, as always, available.

Would never touch a product from this company again. New full price version every f*cking year.
Stay mad.
Woah. You’re so mad you had reply twice.
You’re lucky I have no much forgiveness in my heart.
