iZotope sets Ozone’s Imager free: get your mixes sounding nice and wide!
It’s been a good month for bargain hunters thus far: First, Eventide gave away a brand-new EQ that’s both extra fancy and free ’till October. And now iZotope have gone and made their Imager plug-in free for everyone!
Seasoned Ozone users probably spotted the similarity right there, but if you didn’t manage to figure it out – this is Ozone’s Imager module, designed for manipulating the stereo image, turned stand-alone plug-in! Any mix or master can benefit from widening the stereo field – it’s one of the great psycho-acoustic effects that never fails to make a song sound massive and room-fillin’.
Imager features simple controls and elaborate visualization so you can easily narrow or widen your tracks’ stereo image. It works with both mono and stereo audio and features Stereoize Mode for you to experiment with. Imager belongs in a mastering chain, as well as thrown onto individual tracks. So take advantage of this free slice of Ozone, iZotope’s well-known mastering suite.
Heck, even if you don’t want to fiddle with soundstage tuning, the Vectorscope and Correlation Meter make for fantastic audio visualizers… especially with the aid of certain substances!
