Today, With the Jackson Dave Davidson Warrior, Death Metal darlings Revocation, more specifically, their frontman and guitar player, is introducing an exciting update to his signature model. The original from back in the ’10s was already a hit, and this one’s got even more to offer.

I have to admit that I wasn’t too familiar with Revocation’s catalog. But a quick deep dive showed me how much I’ve been missing out! It doesn’t get much more in your face than that! Oscillating between uber-heavy halftime parts and lighting-fast doubletime choruses with piercing solos and beautifully angry vocals – I’m a fan! Dave Davidson, the band’s singer and guitarist seems to be one of those metal wunderkinds, cut from a similar cloth as Helmet’s Page Hamilton.
Studied at an elite music college, full of riffs, ideas, crazy harmonies and time changes – but it’s metal, not jazz. What Davidson and his two bandmates come up with is pretty impressive. Jackson must have realized this a while back, because they already launched a signature with Davidson last decade. And today, the Jackson Dave Davidson Warrior is a long-overdue upgrade.

Seven strings, 24 jumbo frets, 26.5-inch scale length – the specs alone are impressive. The Jackson Dave Davidson Warrior also combines a Nyatoh body with a bolt-on maple neck. For the fretboard, it’s either ebony with the red model or maple with the yellow variant.
The deep-black hardware is all about metal: sealed die-cast mechanics and Floyd Rose 1000 bridge including a double-locking tremolo. Both variants come with two humbuckers of the type DiMarzio Occult Classic. Change or combine them with a three-way switch, dial in your sound with while global controls for volume and tone.
All in all, the Jackson Dave Davidson Warrior is pretty puristic guitar considering the current trend towards coil splitting and push/pull controls. The message seems to be: this is Dave’s sound, love it or leave it. Self-confident!
