Jackson MJ Series Rhoads RR24MG – Gloss Black or Snow White?
Available in Gloss Black and Snow White finishes both with EMG pickups
These Jackson MJ Series Rhoads RR24MG models are both made in Japan and are available in either Gloss Black with yellow stripes or Snow White with black pinstripes.
Rhoads RR24MG
The Jackson MJ Series Rhoads RR24MG model is their latest take on the Randy Rhoads-style Flying V shape and this time they are being built in Japan. Fender owns the Jackson brand and is producing more models in the range using their Japanese factories. This is great for players, as they have a reputation for building quality guitars, and are slightly more affordable than US-built instruments.
Through-Body
They feature an alder body with a 25.5″ scale length through-body three-piece maple neck that has graphite reinforcement and a gloss colour-matched back finish. As mentioned above this new model is available in both Gloss Black with yellow stripes or Snow White with black pinstripes finishes.
The neck then has a 12”-16” compound radius bound ebony fretboard with a set of pearloid sharkfin inlays and 24 jumbo frets, plus a set of Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots.
EMG loaded
This model is fitted with the EMG 81 in the bridge position and the EMG 85 in the neck position. These offer classic active humbucker tones, which will suit this model nicely. They are then controlled by a three-position pickup toggle switch, a single volume control, and a tone control. Simple, effective, and perfect for the job.
Gotoh Locking Trem
They are fitted with gold hardware throughout and this includes a Gotoh GE1996T Series double-locking tremolo bridge system and a set of matching Gotoh die-cast tuners, plus a set of Dunlop dual-locking strap buttons. Therefore all the hardware is good quality and should last well on these guitars.
Black or White?
The hardest part for any potential new owners could be which colour to opt for, as both Gloss Black and Snow White are classics for this model. Currently, Thomann has the Snow White version listed for pre-order on their site.
