The Jackson Virtuoso is the second installment of the company’s American Series and follows on from last year’s SL3 Soloist model.

This new Jackson Virtuoso has been launched with an impressive video featuring Misha Mansoor, Marty Friedman, David Davidson, Heriot’s Debbie Gough, and Clint Tustin of Erra.

New Colours
Available in Mystic Blue, Satin Black, Satin Shell Pink, and Specific Ocean finishes. They have some nice finish options, with black hardware throughout the range.

American Series
As the name suggests these American Series Virtuoso models are made in the USA, and feature some very nice specifications.
Key specifications include a contoured alder body and a five-piece caramelized maple/maple graphite-reinforced bolt-on neck that has what Jackson calls a handshake neck heel which is contoured for a great fit, and upper fret access.
They have a 12-16” compound radius fretboard, with rolled edges and this is made out of streaked ebony and fitted with 24 jumbo frets.
The necks also have a set of Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots, which makes it easier to see where you are playing on the neck when on a dark stage. Plus, as a set of Mother of Pearl offset dot inlays on the front of the fretboard.
It has a handy Dual-Action truss rod with a heel mont wheel adjustment, which is great in my opinion and makes for easy tweaks to the neck relief.

Seymour Duncan
They have a Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 bridge pickup matched with an SH-1N neck pickup. These are controlled by a
Hardware includes a Floyd Rose 1500 double-locking tremolo, and a set of Gotoh MG-T locking tuners.
They come with a nice Jackson Foam Core Case included in the price as well, which is also welcome.
Verdict
On paper, they do have some nice specifications, but they aren’t exactly standout models and there is a lot of competition in this marketplace in 2023.
As long as the fit and finish are on point, then I am sure they will sell. I look forward to hearing reviews from new owners soon for this new model.
