JHS Harmonic Tremolo

If you think of the big tremolos of this world, you can’t avoid Fender. In 1960, Fender’s Harmonic Tremolo was introduced to the Bandmaster and Vibrasonic amplifiers. Offering a soft, harmonious, musical effect that works beautifully on the guitar. The uni-vibe sound should also be possible with this effect, with a little tweaking.

The pedals operation is simple, with Volume, Rate and Depth controls and the “Type” toggle switch. The speed of the tremolo effect is also indicated by the LED.

MSRP – USD 99

JHS Octave Reverb

Next up is the new JHS Octave Reverb which is supposed to be based on the shimmer sounds of Brian Eno, which we all heard in the 80s on U2 albums. Definitely not a bad choice. In terms of sound, it goes in the direction of Ambient Reverb and in Decay, i.e. the end, it tilts into the octave. Depending on the toggle switch position, towards the upper or lower octave.

MSRP – USD 99

Series 3

The whole Series 3 range of effects offers some useful effect pedals, and at a reasonable price point. Don’t forget that JHS Pedals pays their employees in the USA a proper wage, uses quality components and the pedals have a high-quality build. These aren’t cheap to produce and I suspect margins are tight. This means that musicians get good value for money from this range.

These two new models offer something new, and I believe it is the first time that JHS has made these circuits. Not a bad deal for $99 each.
