JHS adds three new effects to its $99 3 Series pedal range
New Hall Reverb, Flanger and Phaser effects added to 3 Series
The JHS Pedals 3 Series was launched in October 2020 as an affordable collection of 7 pedals, designed to give simple yet great quality effects, made in the USA. The brand has now expanded the range by adding three new effects to the series; Hall Reverb, Flanger, and Phaser.
JHS 3 Series
The 3 Series from JHS pedals all follow the same basic layout of three control knobs and a mini-switch, which makes for a no-nonsense effect pedal. And by cutting back on fancy graphics and multiple pedals layouts, JHS has managed to create a line of made in USA pedals that retail for only $99 each. This is no mean feat and these pedals already have quite a following, as they offer some great tones with a high-quality build and quality components, designed to last.
JHS has now added the new Hall Reverb, Flanger, and Phaser to the existing lineup, three classic effects many players love having on their pedalboard setups.
Hall Reverb
The 3 Series Hall Reverb gives you access to large rooms and cathedral-like reverbs. It has controls for Verb, Dampen, and Decay, along with a mini switch labelled Modulate. It is all pretty self-explanatory. You can hear it in action, along with the other new pedals in the official demo video below.
Flanger
The JHS 3 Series Flanger was inspired by classic analogue flangers, including the Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress, the Tycobrahe Pedalflanger, and the MXR M117 Flanger. It has three controls labelled Blend, Rate, and Intensity, along with a mini-switch labelled Tape. The latter mimics the original tape manipulation style flanging created in a recording studio.
Phaser
Finally, the 3 Series Phaser is based on ’70s style phaser circuits and offers classic phasing. You get controls for Blend, Rate and Width, plus a mini-switch labelled F.Back.
These new effects all sound pretty solid in the demo video below, so I can see all three being big sellers for JHS. It is also nice that the 3 Series now has 10 pedals to choose from.

I’ve always felt JHS pedals were too expensive for what they are. These 3 series pedals are priced right, I want to like them, but I just don’t love the sound of any of them so far. They’re boring. Maybe this batch is better, I could use a phaser.
