Keeley Compressor Mini: Compressed tones and format for your pedalboard
The new Keeley Compressor Mini is a super-simple, two-knob compressor pedal, and possibly Keeley’s most easy to use version to date.
Keeley Compressor Mini
Robert Keeley has been working on a tweaked, simplified version of his compressor circuit that’s designed to make it as easy to use as possible. This new Keeley Compressor Mini launches today and looks like Robert has hit the mark with this one.
Simple to use
The pedal has two knobs labelled Level and Comp – I think anyone could work this compressor out in seconds! Keeley states that it has a built-in pre-amp to give you a quality guitar tone, with a handy treble clarifier for higher compression settings to keep your clarity and retain your note definition. Plus, Keeley has also increased the sustain range to give subtler compression without making the signal sound too squashed.
Finally, Keeley has what it calls a new transient release time that will “make humbuckers sing and single coils pop.” The demo video below is quite impressive and I like the price point as well, whic his reasonable for a quality compressor pedal.
It sounds like this compressor won’t colour your guitar tone too much, so could be perfect for when you need a little more sustain and body for your tone.
Limited Edition
Keeley is offering a standard version in black along with a limited edition white variant. You can grab a white one if you’re quick, but either way I’m sure if you need a simple compressor stompbox on your pedalboard, then this should be one to check out.
RRP – USD 129
