Keeley Compressor Plus effect pedal: Manhattan Compression anyone?
Compressor Plus now with added parameters
Keeley has updated its popular compressor pedal and added a few new useful additions to this already popular boutique compression pedal.
Keeley Compressor Plus
This update for 2017 adds a new humbucker/single coil release switch that automatically adjusts attack and release functions of the compressor, thereby complementing your guitar pickups and hopefully making it more musical. The Tone Control has been designed to add highs and treble back into the signal and avoid the source being dulled by compression.
Manhattan Compression
The Blend control can be used to add in some uncompressed signal with full dynamic range. This ‘Manhattan Compression’ trick is what I would call parallel compression is an age-old studio trick and allows you to keep your transients intact and still get the thump you require from compression.Whatever you call it, it is rather handy to have on a pedal and makes it more versatile in many scenarios, whether studio recording or playing live in a band situation.
This is a nice little update to this already well-specified compressor and a definite upgrade on both of the previous 2 and 4 knob models from Keeley.
Check out the official Keeley demo video below for a handy overview of how it sounds in a band scenario. The pedal is also at an introductory price for the launch which saves you $50 off the standard price, so if you’re quick off the mark you can save a few quid on one.
RRP USD 129.00 plus shipping/taxes from July, usually USD 179 and on an introductory offer for launch.
