Keith McMillen Instruments will continue as Muse Kinetics, refresh products with new name and logo. Two products have also been discontinued.
Keith McMillen Instruments Rebranding as Muse Kinetics
Keith McMillen, the founder and visionary behind the company that bore his name, Keith McMillen Instruments, sadly recently passed away. The company has now announced that going forward it will have a new name, Muse Kinetics.
“The company’s new name, Muse Kinetics, embodies the dynamic relationship between musicians and their instruments,” the company said in an announcement. “Muse Kinetics is what we practice as musicians, and the instruments that we make are all designed to measure force, and respond to creative gestures and articulated motions that are inspired and give inspiration to others.”
Keith McMillen Instruments Rebranding: Delicate Timing
Plans for the change to a new name and logo had already been in motion for some time, with Keith’s passing an unfortunate coincidence.
“We understand the delicate timing of this announcement,” the company said on its Keith McMillen Instruments Instagram page. “With Keith’s blessing we had begun work on rebranding the company earlier this year, and new Muse Kinetics product had just started arriving at our warehouse a few weeks before Keith’s unexpected and sudden passing.”
Keith McMillen Instruments Rebranding: How it Affects Products
As part of the planned rebranding, a number of products in the KMI/Muse Kinetics lineup will get new logos and other cosmetic facelifts.
Products available with the new brand and logo are:
- QuNexus Galaxy (new color option, available now)
- BopPad Galaxy (new color option, available now)
- 12 Step2 (available now)
- SoftStep3 (available in October)
- Accessories: Step Adapter Kit, QuNexus Adapter Kit, MIDI Out Adapter Cable
The following will continue with the Keith McMillen Instruments branding until current stock is depleted:
- K-Board C
- K-Board Pro 4
- Accessories: BopPad Mount, MIDI Expander, K-Board Pro Case
Muse Kinetics also announced that K-Mix and QuNeo have been discontinued.
