Kemper Profiler OS 6.0 adds Ionosphere and Formant Reverbs
Ionosphere & Formant Reverb added to Kemper
Kemper has just announced its new Profiler OS 6.0 with two new reverb algorithms that add a different string to the system’s bow. The Ionosphere and Formant Reverb ar enow available via the OS update.
Kemper Profiler OS 6.0 – Ionosphere & Formant Reverbs
“Big studio machine-grade reverb effects” is how Kemper describes the new Ionosphere and Formant reverbs. These two definitely aren’t your regular, spring, plate and hall reverbs. Far from it! What you are getting here is two high-end, sound design style reverb algorithms that go off into the distance and beyond.
Formant Reverb
The Formant Reverb adds formant filters to the existing Cirrus Reverb to give the reverb tail more colour. There’s a, well, choral character that sounds a little like a vocal formant. It sounds lush – maybe this would be perfect for your Prog Metal band…
Ionosphere Reverb
The Ionosphere Reverb is based on both the Cirrus Reverb and Formant Reverb. It goes in a weird, orchestral direction, with pitch and shimmer reverbs. This is achieved via the two pitch shifters embedded into the reverb engine to give it a crystalline quality. Epic stuff indeed!
The update is available now from Kemper. See the link below for the free update. You can also hear the two new reverb algorithms being demoed in the official YouTube video below.
Make sure you have the Kemper Rig Manager 2.1.74 to update your OS.
