Kings of Leon’s upcoming album: What is their favorite gear?
Altrockers Kings of Leon just announced a new album! Can we please have fun comes out in May 2024. The Grammy-winning band will also embark on a world tour following the release. In addition, they offer a first glimpse of the upcoming record with the new single “Mustang”. Let’s take a look at what we know so far about Kings of Leon’s new album!
Kings of Leon’s New Album Unveiled: First single “Mustang”!
Three years after their latest album When You See Yourself, Grammy winners Kings of Leon today announced their next record: Can we please have fun. That’s got to be the most fitting album title for our times. The album comes out on May 10, 2024.
Along with the album announcement, the band also released the first single of the record, “Mustang” along with a music video. “There’s a mustaaaang in the city” – KON know how to write a catchy chorus. It’s short, to the point and quite the raunchy rocker.
In addition to the cover, the tracklist of Kings of Leon’s new album was also revealed:
- Ballerina Radio
- Rainbow Ball
- Nowhere To Run
- Mustang
- Actual Daydream
- Split Screen
- Don’t Stop The Bleeding
- Nothing To Do
- Television
- Hesitation Generation
- Ease Me On
- Seen
If the new single is any indication of the vibe of the new record, then it’s going to be a much rockier affair than 2021’s rather introverted When You See Yourself.
Tour dates for UK/IRL and US/Canada
Besides Kings of Leon’s new album, the band also announced an extensive tour, starting in August 2024, with 26 shows in the US and Canada. Preceded by European shows, tickets for Kings of Leon’s tour are now available at Ticketmaster.
The band will also play a run of festival shows in March 2024 in Mexico, Columbia, and Brazil. Kings of Leon announced earlier today that they will play nine shows in the UK and Ireland in June and July. Tickets for these shows are also available at Ticketmaster UK.
It’s good to hear Kings of Leon playing a rougher sound again. The mellow tones of their last record shows a softer side that at times was a bit too tame, in my opinion. And anthems like Use Somebody or Sex on Fire showed how catchy they can write.
What gear does Kings of Leon use?
If you’ve ever wondered about KON’s gear, both in terms of instruments and in terms of recording gear, top get that warm Southern Rock sound, here are a few suggestions from us. When it comes to axes, the Followill’s seem to be Gibson-heads (Source: Equipboard.com).
Vox seems to be a favorite when it comes to amps. In addition, the band uses a variety of rather traditional pedals.
And if you’re looking to get closer to singer Caleb Followill’s vocal sound, take a look at these vocal mics.

Not sure what this has to do with music equipment? Bands bring out new albums all the time – why make an article about Kings of Leon? I would leave this to other websites.
