Making music on the move has become increasingly easier over the years and many companies have sought to give us the right tools with which to do it. But replicating the western chromatic piano-style keyboard in miniature has often eluded us.

Introducing the KORG nanoKey Fold

KORG now think they may have cracked it with the brand new KORG nanoKEY Fold, a truly portable and universal keyboard controller that slips right into your pocket or bag and doesn’t take up much more space than a modern mobile phone.

However, reducing the size of something shouldn’t mean reducing its functionality, and KORG seems to have packed quite a bit into this pint-sized controller. Featuring a velocity sensitive and silent membrane keybed, it also includes scale and chord modes, touch sliders for modulation and pitch control and even a pretty useful arpeggiator.

If you want to use your nanoKEY Fold across multiple devices, say from a tablet to a phone to a laptop, you can store up to 15 scenes in the device and switch between them with ease, and they give you a free copy of the KORG Kontrol editor to mess around with the settings too.

Connectivity

Connectivity is the key with such a portable device, and the nanoKEY Fold is no slouch in this department. The obligatory USB-C port is present, but also TRS MIDI with an adapter to connect to a wide range of devices.

In my opinion Korg is directing a lot of new products to kids and none professional keyboard players! They need to stop making all of these small keyboards and get back to pro 61 ,73,88 key Synths! And make a replacement for the Kronos2 but not a Nautilus! In the style of the Roland, and Yamaha workstations! To many Synths with not enough Keys!!!
