Kramer Dave Mustaine Collection: Rust In Peace with Alien Tech Green
All new Kramer Dave Mustaine Collection announced
The Kramer Dave Mustaine Collection launches today alongside the two new Epiphone Flying V Prophecy models. Fans of Megadeth are now spoilt for choice, as the frontman now has more signature models available in one day than most artists get in a lifetime. And one of these new Kramer models is the limited edition Rust In Peace Vanguard in Alien Tech Green!
Kramer Dave Mustaine Collection
First up is the new limited edition Kramer Dave Mustaine Vanguard Rust in Peace version, which comes in an Alien Tech Green finish and looks pretty sick.
Then there are the standard Ebony and Silver Metallic Vanguard versions available. Today is a good day for lovers of the Flying V, Megadeth fans and Mustaine’s bank balance!
Rust in Peace
This Rust In Peace model has a symmetrical mahogany Vanguard body shape, paired with a 25.5” scale mahogany neck with a medium C Dave Mustaine custom profile, plus an ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets.
This one has black chrome hardware throughout which looks great against that green finish.
This version has Dave Mustaine’s signature Seymour Duncan Thrash Factor pickup set and 2 Volumes, a Master Tone and a three-way selector switch. It has a recessed jack plate on the underside of the top horn.
The hardware consists of a Locktone Tune-O-Matic bridge paired with a strung-through body design and a set of Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners.
MSRP – USD 1299 including Dave Mustaine Custom Hardshell
Vanguard
The Ebony Vanguard and the Silver Metallic Vanguard versions are practically the same as the limited edition version above. Just in the two standard finishes.
Same hardware, signature pickups and construction, etc
Perfect for anyone that isn’t into bright green finishes.
MSRP – 1299 including Dave Mustaine Custom Hardshell
Verdict
Does the world need this many Dave Mustaine signature models? Yeah, probably it does, as Megadeth are huge and everyone loves a Flying V guitar surely?
I quite like the Rust In Peace limited edition Alien Tech Green finish and so I’m all for them. Plus, I like Mustaine, we nearly lost him a few times along the way, but he battled his way through his demons and poor health. Therefore, these new Kramers and the Epiphone models announced today are all fine by me.

One response to “Kramer Dave Mustaine Collection: Rust In Peace with Alien Tech Green”
Shrewd of Gibson to make the Epiphone brand models with the traditional Flying V shape and the more shred-associated Kramer brand models much more reminiscent of the J*cks*n King V which was closely associated with Mustaine for years.
That’s one way to avoid one brand from diluting sales from another. It would be interesting to see the relative sales figures some way down the line, not that we ever would, of course.
