Kramer Striker Collection: ’80s shred on a budget
Three new Striker models
The Kramer Striker Collection includes three new models: the Striker HSS, the Striker Figured HSS Floyd Rose and the Striker Figured HSS Stoptail. Each is based on the ’80s shred models the brand originally built a reputation on. Will these wallet-friendly versions offer value for money?
’80s Shred
The new Kramer Striker Collection is part of the now Gibson-owned and recently resurrected brand. These models have the style and looks of the ’80s brand. But they are often a lot more affordable than the originals. This new lineup has just been added to the company’s online store. It includes three new models: Striker HSS, Striker Figured HSS Floyd Rose and the Striker Figured HSS Stoptail.
Striker Collection
At first look, these new models and the bold new colours all fit the bill perfectly. Offering all the hallmarks of what embodies an ’80s shred guitar. Bold looks, high-performance specifications and a souped-up SuperStrat body style. The satin-finished maple neck has a shred-tastic SlimTaper C profile and should be great to play with 24 medium jumbo frets fitted to the maple or Indian Laurel fretboard.
The mahogany body is fitted with an HSS pickup layout that includes Alnico 5 pickups throughout. With two single coils and a zebra-coil humbucker in the bridge position.
Versions
The Striker HSS comes in left and right-handed versions, with a licensed Floyd-Rose locking vibrato. This model is available in Jumper Red, Ebony and Majestic Purple. Then the Striker Figured HSS Floyd Rose comes with the locking trem as stated in the name and comes in Wild Ivy or Transparent Red.
Finally, the Striker Figured HSS Stoptail is fitted with an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece. This hardtail model comes in either Transparent Ebony or Transparent Purple finishes.
MSRP: Striker HSS USD 349, Striker Figured HSS Floyd Rose USD 399 and Striker Figured HSS Stoptail USD 379

The Red one is my favorite, it looks like Stev6 Vais Guitar in the movie Crossroads! Nice one.
