The new LD Systems MON G3 series of active floor monitors arrives with four models to choose from. With a coaxial design, built-in DSP, and versatile connections, the updated MON G3 series looks like a promising and affordable solution for any monitoring application from mobile entertainment to large stages.
LD Systems MON G3
The third generation of the LD Systems MON series consists of four active monitor wedges with 8”, 10”, 12”, and 15” woofer sizes. Building on the successful design of the predecessors, LD Systems has once again opted for a coaxial configuration with the horn sitting in the center of the woofer. This ensures a coherent off-axis image, which is perfect for stage monitoring where you find yourself listening from an angle more often than not. According to LD Systems, the horn features a dispersion pattern of 50° horizontally and 90° vertically, which helps to deliver a cleanly separated sound image even when several speakers with different monitor mixes are used on stage.

All four sizes are driven by Class D amplifier modules that deliver 300 W RMS and 1200 W peak. While that’s plenty of power even for loud stages, LD Systems says that the fan-less design also makes the MON G3 series suitable for noise-sensitive applications like lectures, panel discussions, or unplugged gigs.
Built-in DSP
Furthermore, the new MON G3 series features the latest generation of LD Systems’ DynX DSP. With a 3-band equalizer, four EQ presets, a notch filter, and a delay function, the built-in digital signal processor offers ample opportunities for adapting the speakers to different monitoring setups and applications. All DSP features are accessible via a push encoder and display on the side panel.

This is also where you’ll find the recessed connectors, which are optimized for maximum flexibility. In addition to PowerCon mains sockets (in/out), the MON G3 series offers two line inputs on XLR-1/4” combo jacks. Two XLR Thru outputs can pass the signal on to other speakers.
All four speakers of the MON G3 series feature sturdy cabinets made of birch plywood with a polyurea coating. Die-cast aluminium handles make the speakers easy to move around. All models can also be mounted vertically on a stand thanks to a 36 mm flange on the side, so you can also use them as a portable PA.

Price and availability
The LD Systems MON G3 series is now available. The prices range from €469 for the 8-inch model to €699 for the MON 15 A G3.
