Look Mum No Computer Modulation Station and Keyboard Sequencer
Catching up with the Look Mum No Computer project machine there’s a huge 1148 Modulation Station and a #2001 Keyboard Sequencer available as PCB/Panel kits.
1148 Modulation Station
Sam Battle of Look Mum No Computer is constantly putting out cool DIY projects based on stuff he’s built. The 1148 Modulation Station is a Quad LFO that was originally designed for the Gameboy Megamachine. Essentially it’s four separate LFO modules behind an impressive huge single front panel. It looks totally crazy and will fill out your Kosmo rack.
It should be noted that this is designed for the Kosmo “Metric 5U” modular format that Sam uses for all his modules. The idea is that it uses Eurorack voltage and conventions but in a much larger scale to enable easier live performance, regular jack cables, and looking awesome.
It’s a big project with 5 PCBs for £45 and then you’ll have to source the parts and solder it together.
#2001 Keyboard Sequencer
Another enormous front panel, this time for a Kosmo format 16-step sequencer and touch keyboard. It’s based on an Arduino nano that’s lost somewhere in the immensity of the project.
The two rows of 8 knobs can function as two separate 8-step sequencers, a single 16-step sequencer or a sort of polyphonic 8-step sequencer and all of them have separate outputs so you can mix and match in whatever way you want. There are switches for each step giving it a 303-style feel and a gate output for the capacitive touch keys so you can play the notes in a sequence like a keyboard.
The PCB/Panel kit comes with 3 PCBs for £42.
I bought a load of Kosmo PCB/Panel kits a while back and I’m looking forward to building a modular in this awesome format as soon as I can find the time. Keep them coming Sam!
