Margo Price Gibson J-45: Cherry Sunburst Signature
New Country Tones with Classic Components
This Margo Price Gibson J-45 is the Nashville country singer’s new signature model. With a thinner mahogany body, what else makes it so special?
Margo Price Gibson J-45
Based in Nashville, Price is a country and western singer songwriter. Therefore, the famed dreadnaught J-45 is a perfect choice for her own bespoke model. Based on her own 60’s example, she has endeavoured to keep the traditional Gibson spirit alive, but with her own touches.
The Margo Price J-45 has a slightly thinner mahogany body – ideal for a resonant sound. The red spruce top with hand-cut Advanced X-bracing ensures that this classic leaves nothing to be desired in terms of sound. Whether you play gentle acoustic accompaniment or single notes, this guitar always cuts a fine figure.

Refined Detail
The guitar has a rounded mahogany neck that feels smooth and is great to play. The rosewood fingerboard completes the vintage flair. The cream-colored Grover® tuners keep everything well in tune.
We’ve also got a bone nut and a bridge inlay, which helps to provide a natural sound. The TUSQ® bridge pins aid perfect intonation and the L.R. Bagg’s™ pickup system is ideal for plugging in performing live.
For something different, Margo was also inspired by the red-tailed hawks depicted on the distinctive double pickguards of her signature guitar. A small piece of nature on the instrument, so to speak, and a real signature feature.

Pricing and Availability
Overall, the Margo Price Gibson J-45 is a sweet looking thing. I like the traditional J-45 elements, comprised with Price’s own requirements. There looks to be a slight wait time, but these are available from Thomann for *€3,999 / £3,399. Typical J-45 price, but there is a hard case included!
