Martin Guitars 2025: Standard Series updated with Sitka Tops
Three all-new acoustic guitars introduced
Ibanez got the ball rolling the annual NAMM dumps, and now Martin Guitars is following suit. For their first release of Martin Guitars 2025 models, they’re showing a wide range of new models in the Standard Series.
What’s new with Martin Guitars?
Martin Guitars 2025: Standard Series updated
The manufacturer says the biggest innovation in this Standard Series is the new solid Sitka spruce, which is among the top many new models. Some models also have ebony fretboards and bridges, and ebony or bone pins. In addition, Martin Guitars has also refined the design of the neck joint for 2025.
It is now in a streamlined dovetail design. Like the bracing, the neck profile is in the Golden Era style: Martin calls it GE Modified Low Oval. Since there are many new models in all sub-series of the Standard Series and we at Thomann have almost 80 (!) new editions, let’s look at a couple of examples.
D-Serie, Jumbo, and Grand Concert
Most of the newly introduced models are within the famed D-Series. There, you’ve got everything from the elegant D45 to the mid-range D18, so there’s an instrument for everyone. You can get them in different finishes, too, from Ambertone to sunburst, classic, or satin.
The 00, 000 and Jumbo Series also offer new models with Sitka Spruce tops. Let’s not forget the many new left-handed models. There is one for almost every design and type of guitar. It’s worth taking a look at Thomann’s left-handed range.
New models D17, 000-17, and OM-45
Three new models are also being introduced: the D-17, 000-17, and OM-45. The D17 is a pretty affordable dreadnought model by Martin standards, priced at €2,999*. The top, sides, and back are made of mahogany, and the fingerboard is made of ebony.
The Auditorium model 000-17 is also priced at a level for beginners. The guitar features X-bracing, a Sitka soundboard, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard. It costs €2,989* at Thomann and will be available in eight to ten weeks.
The new OM-45 is clearly in the luxury class in terms of price, workmanship, and materials. Its back and sides are made of solid rosewood, its top is made of Sitka spruce and the fretboard is made of ebony. You can get the OM-45 at Thomann* for 12,799 euros!
